How do you stop dogs from chewing your yard to pieces?
We own 2 Golden Retriever-mix pups. [male&femle] They have been fixed since before we got them almost 2 years ago. They’re supposed to be out of the chewing/digging stage, but they ALWAYS tear our fence, picnic table, siding, etc. They’re growing to be a big burden, and if this prblem isnt fixed soon, I’ll have to sell them. Its too much to deal with. So please, HELP!
Also, our yard is HUGE, so there’s ample room for roaming
We keep rawhide bones in suply in their cages as well as outside, and toys, too.

My new 2 yr old shelter dog is great, except for unreasonable amounts of aggression towards cats/dogs/animals?
My boyfriend and I have recently adopted a sweet 2-year old Kai Inu/Husky/Shepard mix named Lucy from our local shelter. We took to her almost immediately but know she is in need of some training. The people at the shelter warned us that she is a little aggressive as far as other animals. We were immediately turned off but decided to find out for ourselves and take her home for a couple-night sleepover. After having her in my backyard she spotted the neighbors dog through the fence and proceeded on running the length of the fence back and forth, cramming her nose through the holes, and growling very aggressively. Her tail was wagging the entire time spite the fact she was baring her teeth. (She didn’t do this in the shelter…) We decided to put her on leash and let her smell the dog face to face. Once she actually met the dog she didn’t rush over and ambush the dog but merely smelled it and lost interest almost immediately.
We realized she was all bark and no bite. All other instances with her have been positive and she has been responding to us and recognizing us as her owners except when there are other animals around she cannot get the opportunity to meet if they are within sight. She is an entirely different dog and does not listen or acknowledge us. We have adopted her but yesterday we had her in our car in an area where there were other dogs walking by. She freaked out, started barking aggressively and really scared us. We tried the "alpha rollover" and I feel like this only made her more aggressive minutes later. We scolded her, said "no!" and tried to distract her with no success. It was scary and disheartening to a degree. She is almost a "perfect" dog other then this fact. It also seems she was a quiet dog until we got her home and now she has started to bark increasingly.
We live with my boyfriend’s grandmother who has a cat whom she adores, but unfortunately is an outdoor cat and needs to get in an out of the house to use the bathroom. Lucy cannot and will not settle down if the cat is within smell or sight. She will tear through everything and anything to get to the cat.
I’m not sure what to do with Lucy and feel it is because she is a little bit of a "special" case because of the fact that she is changing owners at 2 years and has come from a shelter. I do want to stop any bad training behavior of mine and keep it consistent in such a crucial time when she is learning who we are and how we handle her.

How do you stop dogs from digging?
I have a coonhound and he has a shephard mix friend, right next door. They have started digging on both sides of the fence, to get to each other, and many other places in the yard. How can we get them to stop? We have tried cayenne pepper with no luck.

Training a dog to stay calm and behaved in the house?
We currently have a 1 year old pure-bred yellow lab. We bought him when he was 3 months old from the local pet store. Since we bought him, however, we have not been able to train him to stay calm upstairs on the main level of the house with the rest of the family. We have been taking him to the local pet store to train him once a week and get all the tips, however, he only listens for short periods of time and does not obey all of the time. Our lab is naturally extremely hyperactive, jumpy, loves to chew on everything and anything in his way, and just likes to run around like crazy with no sense. The whole point to this is I am trying to figure ou if anyone has any tips/suggestions and necessary things that I need to do in order for this dog to settle down in the house and to be able to trust him and leave him alone for even short periods of time until we are able to leave him alone while we go out of the house. I am just worried because it has been almost a year and his behavior has not changed even with the neutering that he got a few months ago. Due to his poor behavior we MUST keep him in his play crate type of thing for most of the day unless we take him out for a little but absolutly cannot leave him loose in the yard (since there is no fence) and not in the house. any help on how to get him to calm down in the house 24/7 would be great! =)
P.S. how much excersie daily does he need (miles/time) because he is getting a little bit chubby.

How do I convince my dad to let my dog be an indoor dog?STOP CHEWING?
There is this area of our house that’s indoors but it gets a little chilly cause we don’t turn on the heat there..We live in Florida so it shouldn’t be to chilly in there..On one side my dad already made a little Living room, that NOBODY USES..On the other side he has a plan to make it a Dinning room but the floor doesn’t look to neat on that side…But Why do that if you can close off that area and let the dogs go in and out the doggie door and sleep inside at night..But I don’t know how to approach him with it…So far the closest I have got to indoors is playing and at night putting one of them in side the ONLY crate we have in the little area…I put the smaller and younger one in doors cause she has a thinner coast..and the other is older but has a VERY THICK COAT (Aussie retriever mix)..And the bigger one is DESTRUCTIVE & is teaching the younger one to be like that, and she never was like that..Right now she is Sunbathing in the Back Yard..The big one is on the other side of the house that’s closed off, he Destroyed EVERY SINGLE THING I PUT OUT THERE including The bed I bought him and her(not to mention I’m only 13)…He messed it up!! DEVOURED IT!! then he cut down tree, he has started to Dig little Deep Holes!! FOR NO REASON IT’S FAR AWAY FROM THE FENCE..And if he doesn’t stop this BAD behavior we are either gonna get rid of him or Tie him up and train him to be a Guard Dog, and we really don’t wanna do that cause my sis is getting his dad put down soon because of his aggressions and he almost bit 11 PEOPLE IN HIS WHOLE LIFETIME!! AND HE IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD!!!Anyways i’m trying to keep Choxie away from the other ones Bad Behavior..So PLEASE HELP ME..HOW DO I STOP HIS TERRIBLE CHEWING, AND HER TO BE A INSIDE DOG??
I wanna buy bitter spray but dont know where to look or how much it costs..
I walks them 3 times a day, and YES I WANNA KNOW HOW TO STOP CHEWING AND CONVINCE MY DAD TO LET THE OTHER DOG STAY INDOORS..
And i wasn’t the one who Raised the Destructive one, My sis and my dad did..the older one Does Socialize ALOT..We Run and play soccer and fetch plus frisbee ALL DAY so how can he be bored I walk them ALL THE TIME
It’s not Favoring if i still give him lots of attention..Like I said the Bigger one don’t belong to me, he is my dads, and the younger one is mine..She is Catching some of his behavior issues so that’s why they are separated..Both dogs are fixed and are exercised..Daily..I just dont know what to do..
getting rid of my dogs is NOT an option..I WILL NOT let Choxie go back to the pound again, and I CANNOT get rid of bear Bear I love him to much
