Should I give up on my Old English Bulldogge?

I have an 11 month old Old English Bulldogge who is absolutely beautiful and is so sweet. We love him, except he will not stop chewing everything. He has now cost us over 00 in damage to our home. I don’t like to have him in the kennel when we are home, and even though we do keep an eye on him, most of the damage is done while we are with him in the evenings. He is in a kennel during the day when we are at work because he has eaten our couches, I have lost about 10 pairs of shoes. He has eaten my sons toys, and even recently has started on the kitchen cabinents. We have a large yard with a wooden privacy fence which he has also chewed off the bottom of 4 of the fence pannels, therefore I will have to replace the entire fence, which is about 40 pannels, because I can’t find a replacement to match. He loves to chew our deck an gazebo, and loved the wires for the pool pump. We took him to the vet last month, which is only 5 minutes away, and he chewed up the seat in my new truck!! The final straw was that yesterday, my husband called me while I was working to tell me that none of the televisions were working when he got home from work. He checked outside and the dog had actually dug up the cable lines for his snack!! He can do a lot of damage within a very short time because he is very strong.

We have tried so many things to keep him from eating the entire house, and it’s not working. He is now in a crate when we are away or, on a good weather day, outside tied up on a long lead away from everything, but who knew he would end up finding something to chew. I have bought all kinds of fancy chew toys, and raw hides, he has been to obedience/training classes twice, and is very well trained otherwise. I have bought the most expensive foods because the vet told me that perhaps he was missing something in his diet, and I put a muzzle on him when driving anywhere in the car. Help me!! What else can I do?? I am so frustrated that I don’t want to keep him anymore, but I also don’t want to give up on him. We researched this breed for a while before we got him, and I understand that this breed loves to chew, but I can’t afford this anymore. I need advice please. Should I give up or keep trying, and if I keep trying, what else should I do??
