I had a hard time housebreaking my dog (it took two years), and now he’s going in the house again. I don’t think it’s medical since he will hold it up to 12 hours when I have a long work day. He only goes at night, when I’m home. I’m so disappointed and frustrated. He won’t go if he is in my bed with me, but then I don’t get enough sleep because he’s big and wakes up at 4 am wanting to go out. I cleaned the spot where he goes with white vinegar and then let baking soda sit on the spot for almost a week……I don’t know what to do. Help!!!!
He NEVER goes when I am not home, and I never catch ihim int he act. I just thought I’d add that info, because most of the suggestions are focusing around catching him or letting him out. He goes in the house ONLY at night, while we are sleeping.

my dog is a male and 9months old,he is from a shelter, and were crate training him. well this morning and yesterday morning he went poo in his kennel, and there not supposed to poo or urine where they sleep. what can i do to prevent that…or what is the next step?

Ok so this is my first puppy I bought and need to train.

I bought him a cage and I want to make it comfortable for him with blankets and stuff, put I dont want him to pee on them.

Ive been reading about a lot of "crate" training and how they like to keep there "den" clean. How can I keep him from using the bathroom overnight in his cage? Puppy pads?

Last night he wined every once and a while in the cage. I want him to enjoy it and like to sleep at night. Will he grow out of this?

Any tips would help! Thanks!

hi, I just got a american bulldog (2 months) and I have some concerns…

This is not the first time i have a dog. I used to live with my brother who bought a Golden Retriever and I was the one who train him.

My concern is that he makes aggressive sounds like snarling, show his teeth and bark to me and my son. The reason why i am concern is because yesterday i had two incidents. First, my cousin who is 11 carry him and hug him. My doggy Tiger starting liking his face and we were like ohhh he’s so cute.. when suddently he just bited him in his chin. Of course, he started crying when he saw he had blood on his chin. I told tiger NOOO and gave him a toy to chew. Later in the night we were playing hide&seek when my son when to touch him to bring him back to me, Tiger jump and bited his neck, he made a big scracth and bleed too.
Is this normal behaviour?? What can I do?? Right now its okay becuase he is still a baby but it would be diffirent when he grows up.
Other concern that i have, is that he pees in his bed and in the special corner i have for him.. he pees and then lie on top of the pee.. is this normal too? Any ideas on how to stop that??

Last week when I took him to the vet, my doggy wasn’t acting like this. I wan’t to put him in training classes but the vet said to wait two more weeks for his last vaccines, since he will be with other dogs, he could get sick…

Does anyone has an idea of what can i do while he sees the vet next week….
I do walking everyday… At 7am, 10 am, 12 pm, 2:30 pm, 5:30 pm, and 8 pm, then he goes to sleep.

So, if he bites I say NO and do not give him nothing to chew???

I just bought a 2 month old pure breed maltese. We cant get him to stop barking. he hasnt had any training yet. we try to ignore but we feel bad and it gets annoying. We have to keep him locked up because we have three older cats that have to get used to him first. he hates the cage so much and that is y he barks. Some one please help me with a remedy to get him to sleep faster.

My dog just turned 8yrs old and during the day he goes outside for the bathroom but at night he goes in the house. My dad is tired of this so is there any tips for training. i was thinking about buying a crate for him to sleep in at night instead of just sleeping on the floor like he does now. will a crate help? or is there any tips i should know?

We have a male dog (Terri Poo) who is about 1 year old. We tried to house train and we failed. So we keep him outside all day. However, my son can’t sleep at night if he is not in his room. The problem is that we can’t get him to stop peeing in the room. We have tried, taking him out early and letting him in late. There has been times when he just went outside and then back inside and does his business inside, as if he had never gone outside. One more strange thing, he tends to do his business right in front of the door. We might be moving soon to an apartment complex, we don’t want to leave him behind because of my son, so what can we do to train him before we move?

Dog’s short story…
I got him a month or so ago. The folks we got him from said they found him collapsed on the side of the street damn near starved to death. They took him to the vet and he had a lot of work done. He isn’t hand shy. He is VERY foot shy though, as if he has been kicked a lot before. VERY VERY VERY submissive. even to birds flying above the house.

Now my concern…
He seems to have chronic nightmares. every every single night in his sleep he will start whining and his legs will move as if he is running?
He sometimes growls or barks in his sleep too. and I have to softly wake him up. then he crawls on my lap and falls asleep.

He is a year and a half old (approx. and estimated by vet) he is a german shepherd mix.

He does this nearly every night, and im a little concerned.

Another thing he does, which is rather just annoying. is he scratches. I swear he thinks he is a cat! lol
I love him to death but its rather irritating, i have scars because of him! we trimmed his nails… i think imight have to buy him dog shoes to get out of this. we are working at training him not to. and i know it will take time but any advice?

like he will sit and paw at you, while on your lap, or just start DIGGING in your skin! he will paw at your face if you stop petting him. He has gotten better. And i dont pet him when he does it, i tell him no and completely ignore it… err… help???

ANY advice on any of these topics is appreciated. Please don’t be rude though.

thanks! yeah i figured it could be because of his past. He is so scared of everything. I dont know what kind of life he has had. But im working at giving him the best. And his nightmares make me sad but i just wake up him cuddle with him until he falls back asleep. and usually if he is laying on me or against me while sleeping… he doesnt have this problem. so i just try to comfort him. but it happens so often i feel so bad! I think im going to try and find socks for his feet while doing this training thing haha. i dont need more scratches! i have one a foot long down the middle of my back from him!!

I just got a new kitten and she’s 6 weeks old.

She won’t let me sleep at all. I blocked my bed off with boxes and a thin mirror because she peed on my bed 3 times and I don’t want her to sleep with me again.
I dont have money to buy some big crate so yeah.
She meows all night trying to get onto my bed.
She seems to like peeing on towels & plastic..
I’m 12 and need my rest instead of staying up till 3am.

I don’t want to give back the cat because im self concious that my friend will hate me forever because she gave me the cat.

Plus she isn’t even potty trained!
She eats the cat litter and stuff instead of digging and doing her Business in it.

My questions are:

1) Is she sick?

2) How can I make her go to the bathroom in her potty?

3) How can I make my cat stop meowing for me at night?

5) How can I make my cat go to sleep at night in her bed?

and shes been in my room for the past 3 days because my grandma wants her to be in my room because she have 6 other cats that might beat her up and 2 dogs that might hurt her.

She has three little cat beds in my room and she runs around all day..
