Dog training, how do you stop dogs from chewing furniture? Vinyl and foam rubber? I've tried all the usual.

I’ve got two three year old lab crosses, they were brought up in kennels and although not domestic animals are very friendly. the problem comes when they are left alone for any length of time, they chew the sofa to bits. They have all manner of chew toys etc but they love the sofa. I’ve tried pet repellent, even black pepper but all to no avail……any other serious idea’s?

How to get dogs to stop chewing?

My friend has 2 beagles
1 female – not fixed
1 male – fixed
Both over 1yr old
She says they chew on her furniture, her daughters clothes, EVERYTHING
They stay either outside or in the kitchen while she is at work.
The dogs have lots of chew toys from stuffed animals to rubber chewies.

My suggestion was maybe their plethera of chew toys resemble their household items too much. For example a stuffed animal can feel like clothing or furniture cushions.

Any suggestions from y’all?

How do you stop dogs from chewing your yard to pieces?

We own 2 Golden Retriever-mix pups. [male&femle] They have been fixed since before we got them almost 2 years ago. They’re supposed to be out of the chewing/digging stage, but they ALWAYS tear our fence, picnic table, siding, etc. They’re growing to be a big burden, and if this prblem isnt fixed soon, I’ll have to sell them. Its too much to deal with. So please, HELP!
Also, our yard is HUGE, so there’s ample room for roaming
We keep rawhide bones in suply in their cages as well as outside, and toys, too.

How to stop aggressive behavior in dogs?

Hi, my dog is very agressive and dominant. She’s only five months old. I was wondering if anyone had any tips or methods other than dog coarses to help stop that behavior. She’s been biting and snarling and barking all the time. She’s only a small dog and were not going to abuse her. I just want to know some ways to stop the behavior without really hurting her. Will award best answer*
She is a havanese pomeranian mix. Poms are known to be very dominant. She gets plenty of exercise. She was not abused before we got her, she just like get her way. Thats when she starts, when he doesnt get what she wants or she doesnt like what yoyr doing.she can be good at times mostly when shes tired. By the way thanks for already replying :)
When i mean biting i mean like nose bleeds and lots of marks and it REALLY hurts, not just puppy nibbles . She also has plenty of toys and chew sticks.

How can I get my basset hound puppy to stop biting and barking?

Will this continue until he’s an adult if I don’t train it or will it eventually mellow down? I bought him several chew toys and small bones with meat, but he seems to get sick of chewing his toys n bones easily and starts chewing my shoe. Sometimes when i yell at him with a stern voice saying no or ignoring him he understands, but he doesn’t seem to learn to stop completely… I do have a muzzle cover or whatever and water spray but I don’t like to use it because it doesn’t seem to work… His behavior is not too bad its just he gets excited when he sees people/new people approaching and he gets hyper sometimes because he’s a pup…

how do i train my dog (doberman) to stop tearing things up?

I have a doberman, cole, he likes to bark and tear up things and i was wondering how to stop it? And in my last question, when i said punish, i didnt mean hitting him, i meant saying no, sorry for the misunderstanding.

How do I set up the dog crate when crate training?

I read I should put the bed & food/water at one end, toys in the middle, at the other end & use a puppy pad/newspaper for going potty.

HOW would all of that fit in a 36 in crate??

Do I get a dog bed for the one end or would ittake up too much room?

How do I train my dog to stop tearing everything apart?

I’ve read some stuff saying that maybe he’s lonely or constantly anxious because we don’t spend enough time with him, but after a couple weeks of consistently playing with him and walking him, he still tears everything apart (plants, trash, gardening tools). No, I’m not talking about him getting all kujo on everything, because that’s not the case.

He’s always calm and just relaxing but he likes to chew on things.

I bought him like a million toys, which have helped only a little–we’ve ultimately just ended up trying to keep the backyard CONSTANTLY empty. Which means CONSTANTLY boring.

Thanks for the help!
Oh, forgot to add: yes, he’s a puppy. 12 months; at least the vet says that still counts as puppy. Oh, and he’s a chocolate lab.
